Match Comments

Excellent game, with both sides looking to play an expansive game. The lead changed hands on a number of occasions before NHSOB took control of the match through their forwards. Lee Blunt, Andrew Screen and Felipe Molano all returning to inspire the young players around them. Youth product Matthew Reed playing some superb rugby in the backrow, scoring 2 tries on his senior debut.

The Oldboys controlled the scrums, and took the ball from Machen on a number of occassions. Justin Watkins, Paul Kelleher and Billy Halls having a superb game in the front row, causing their opposite numbers all sorts of problems.

The backs also played an important role, with 'youngster' Gareth Ronayne and 'old-timer' Neil Cammies running the ball back to the opposition on a number of occasions.

Alan Norris in the second row had his best game this season with some rampaging runs. This was the best the Oldboys had played this year and many of these players will be pushing for a place in the first team after the Autumn Internationals.
