With so many players unavailable for the 1st team, the 2nds struggled to get a team on the park. The boys played out of their skins and out of position and gave Cwmbran Athletic a huge match. The Oldboys were led up front by Glenn Stroud at No.8 - he led by example with many 'bullocking'runs into opposition territory. It was also good to see Ryan Burns back from Australia to help out in the backs. The Oldboys pummelled the opposition 22 but could not cross for the try - Cwmbran had 3 breaks and scored on each occasion. Although the scoreline suggests it was a little one sided - it could not be further from the truth. Pat Brunnock (Capt) was very proud of the effort and attitude of his young team, and knows that if they keep this up, it will not be long before victories follow. |
