With major clubs such as The Newort Cricket Club and the Newport Swimming Club. NHSOB Secretary Caroline Studley was there with the Chairman to recieve the award supported by other club members.
To be recognised by the city in this way is an honour for the club snd every other rugby club in which we are involved. Our success is not just for the club but the whole of rugby in south east wales and beyond. Tom wall the clubs press officer stated that the club were delighted to recieve the award. We are dependant on the membership and an army of volunteers to ensure our ongoing success. The need for sponsorship and direct financial support from the city, private enterprise and the the memberships is esssential to future success.
We have recently spent large somes of money on the pitches and need to extend the club house and build new changing rooms to cope with the volume of people using the club each week. These changes are essential if we are to continue to support the players both young and old. Every week over 700 players will use the club during the playing seasons for training sessions and matches when everyone is at home over 32 team games will be played at the club in a week. The high demand on the facilities is a major issue for the club.
Many thanks to the WRU and Sports Council who have help us with the recent ground improvements. We will have to stay off these untill October some early season games will be played away from the club.
We would love to hear from anyone who wants to belong or support our very successfull expanding club. Email
