NHSOB

Sunday, 8th March:  Players and supporters alike were up at the crack of dawn for the much anticipated annual trip to the Richmond Mini Rugby Festival.

The long journey to London's leafy suburb of Richmond was, thankfully, uneventful (remember last year!) and the Under 9's performed admirably against some of the top English sides (including hosts Richmond, London Irish and Blackheath).  Their task was made even more difficult as Under 9 rugby in England is played with uncontested scrums and line-outs, something that NHSOB U9's had never experienced before.  They played four games winning one (v Richmond) but losing to London Irish, Blackheath and Brighton.  Unfortunately, they were unable to complete their pool matches due to a torrential thunderstorm (the final match V Welwyn was unplayed) but all who travelled were extremely proud of the boys who adapted well to unfamiliar rules.
