NHSOB turned up fielding a full strength squad of 15 players so Croesy borrowed 3 boys to make it 10 a side. From the off the Old Boys, captained by Geraint Evans, pressed and turned the ball over with some excellent tagging from a strong defensive line. From the restart the ball got passed out to the ever dangerous Luca Hoole who went over for his 1st try of the half. Luca followed this up with 3 excellent runs from deep in his own half to score 3 more trys. Croesy hit back with a score of their own which left the 1st half ending 4 – 1.
The second half continued in the same vein. Croesy could not break through the Old Boys defence and every time the Old Boys attacked they threatened to score. Man of the match Luca Hoole opened the scoring with a well worked try that was passed neatly through the team opening up the space for Luca to run into. Ellie Robinson, with some fantastic supporting runs, then scored a brace to take the score to 7 – 1. Croesy worked the ball well out to the wing and they managed to touch the ball down before Tomos Sharwood completed the scoring for the Old Boys leaving the final score 8 – 2.
A special mention to NHSOB’s Liam McDonald, Harvey Smith and Dylan Pollock who all had an excellent game playing for the opposition.
