The under 8’s have made an impressive start to their season and this game was no exception. The team led by captain Tomos Sharwood went behind early on but soon hit back with a try scored by Luca Hoole. The old boys then went ahead by an excellent solo effort scored by Steffan Owen who ran the length of the pitch to touch down.
RTB hit back with a try of their own which led to the move of the match. The Old Boys turning defence into attack passed the ball beautifully along their line with Luca Hoole offloading to Thomos Sharwood who ran in for the try.
RTB pulled the scores level at that’s how the 1st half ended. After a close opening half the 2nd half was much more open. With lots of turn overs the only thing that kept RTB out was the fantastic defensive work of man of the match Thomas Brenan.
The Old Boys showed more great handling skills with the ball being moved quickly along the line and ended with Tom Brenan drawing the RTB defence before releasing Luca for another try. The Old Boys scored twice more leaving the final score 6 – 3. An excellent team performance. Well done!!!
