NHSOB under 12s v Chepstow U 12s 8/11/09
Given the importance of the day and time the kick off
both teams held poignant 1minutes silence in
remembrance of those who have given their lives serving
in our armed services.
The teams kicked off and entertained the crowd with
some excellent rugby. NHSOB spent long periods
defending in their own half as Chepstow put them
under lots of pressure, however it was NHSOB which
managed to put Chepstow under pressure with two well
work tries by Isaac Rowland's and Joshua Ford. A conversion by Ashley Gibson gave them 12 points to 7
half time lead. The Chepstow team responded with a try
and conversion of their in the closing minutes of the 1st
half
The second half start was a very similar affair with
NHSOB and Chepstow playing the game at pace. The
first try of the second half saw Joshua Ford scoring a
second try after some good work from the forwards Sean
Conlon, Gareth Perkins, and Ethan Churchill making a
strong front row enjoying success in the scrum. The
second row partnership of Joshua Wall and Ethan
Goddard securing the ball at the lineout and rucking
well. The recent defensive coaching in training as led to
improvements with everyone committing themselves to
the tackles. There was a second try from Chepstow but
NHSOB held on for a well deserved victory with some
first class defensive work. A special praise should go to
the whole team on their continuing improvement which
should see them do well for the rest of the season The
boys played well and there was some excellent support
play from Charlie Wheeler Jones, Corinth Jones Ben
Prosser, Connor Shefford, and Ethan Churchill. It was
great to see Hakeem play for the second time and he
started to look at home when he was moved to play as a
flanker. It was great to see Kain Hooper on the
touchline supporting the boys while waiting for his
registration to come through and we look forward to
seeing him in action for NHSOB in the coming weeks.
Strong effort from Shaun who was also playing in his
second game for NHSOB
Final Score 19-12
