NHSOB under 12s V Risca under 12s RFC
NHSOB played host to Risca this weekend. The game started at pace despite the heavy rain and poor conditions. Handling was good by both teams during the first five minutes. NHSOB had spent most of the time in the Risca half of the field. Risca opened the score with a sudden break capitalising on some handling errors by NHSOB who had failed to catch the ball. This led to a turn over and Rica attacked the line at pace to open the scoring. 5.0.
A second try and a conversion put Risca 12 .0 up after 15 minutes. NHSOB dug in and a quick pass to Ashley Gibson led to a breakthrough try to make the score 12.5. Another two tries from Risca 22-5, the game continued with some open running play by both teams despite the wet conditions. Tom Rice took a pop pass from Joshua Wall who had just secured loose ball and Tom took it over the line with a run from inside his own half. Score 22.12 this put some gas into the NHSOB side particularly since the try was converted by Ashley Gibson. Two more tries followed from NHSOB this brought the score to 22 -22. The last five minutes saw a series of attacks and counter attacks from both sides. The game ended with Risca in an attacking position but strong defensive play led to Risca loosing the ball in contact and out of play. At the final whistle a 22-22 draw was a fair result for both teams.
