RICHMOND RFC FESTIVAL OF RUGBY LONDON FEB 09
When Wales invaded England to play gods great and noble and the Sun don`t Shine but the wind did blow but.....

Then temperature dropped and the rain came down, but the games played on

The rain continues and so does play but as the backs slide about and the forwards take over the play. In true hippopotamus style they wallow in the mud, red faced and blue with the cold, but no one cared because there was a game of rugby to play and win and after all the big boys love to roll in the mud.

But by now the parents had taken shelter, saying prayers asking for Noahs Arc, but instead having to give thanks for Toms 8 man tent which by now had 40 humans plus slowly entering in bibilcal style two by two crammed into the tent to wait for the rain to stop but the game went on. At the end of which room for ten more cold and wet young players entered the tent with smiles on thier faces content with a draw and a chance to get out of the wet. a A shuffling of feet made room were there was not and the offer of shelter went out to those from other teams without the benifit of shelter. Showing that rugby is a game for ruffians played by gentlemen. We will never know how many were fitted in but room was found for all who came. The rain stopped and the tent was packed away and we headed home back up the M4 to be met with sleet and snow but noboby cared as they were dry and warm and we sang all they way home. What a great day when Wales invaded England to play the noble game we took the weather into battle and we Showed how rugby should be played.

NELSON RFC TOURNAMENT
The under 11s played at Nelson at the end of last season when they were then actually the under tens. All age groups went up a year in the September 2009. Nelsons event was well organised and blessed with fine weather and as a result we all had an excellent day out. It is a chance for the players to have fun and play several games against teams from a wider area. We had lots of fun and there is a carnival atmosphere. Players many with painted faces competed against each other. There were some strongly fought play and the quality of rugby was very high.

Every year NHSOB MINI Rugby Section go on tour. This as become one of the biggest events in the club calender. All age groups from under 7 to under 12 take part and this year we were delighted to take some of the "Specials with us on tour". We toured Cornwall based at the Sandymouth Bay Holiday Park. We played the Cornish All Blacks and these are some of the pictures from that game. NHSOB were delighted to come away with a win for every age group on tour Many thanks to the Cornish All Blacks at Launceston RFC and to Bude RFC for hosting us and for the exceptional welcome you gave us. Lets hope we meet again in 2010.

Men of Gwent Sevens August 09
NHSOB RFC UNDER 11s AND CALDICOT RFC UNDER 11
Both teams were delighted to be invited to play against each other at the Men of Gwent Sevens Tournament. They provided the large crowd to a display of quality and entertaining rugby. It was great to see these young players being supported by many of the senior players and indeed some of the senior figures could be seen on the side of the pitch. Many current and past rugby legends were there to cheer the young players on. The game went to Caldicot in thelast minute. Both teams were however able to show that the future of welsh rugby is good as they put on a first class performance. The crowd stood and cheered and clapped both teams off. They were presented with medals and other rugby goodies including new rugby balls by Jason Tovey and Dan Lydiate from the Gwent Dragons. Many of the players found their pictures had be taken by the South Wales Argus and included in the Argus website along with the senior players pictures. A real special day for both teams. Credit must go to both the teams coaches who have worked hard to get the teams to such an high standard.
