Alexi Webb put in a Man Of The Match performance as NHSOB U10’s played their first home game of the season against RTB Ebbw Vale........
The visitors took an early lead following good work at a ruck and a run into the left hand corner. The score was converted to give Ebbw a 7-0 lead. However, NHSOB hit back following a great inside pass from Oliver Johnson to Alexi Webb, who crossed the line with a forceful run. The score was converted to level the match. The sides then exchanged scores, with Ebbw Vale retaking the lead following a well worked move from a 5m scrum. NHSOB scored a very similar try from a 5m scrum, scored by Alexi Webb. Both tries were converted, leaving the match level at half time. (HT 14-14)
NHSOB started the second have at pace and man of the match Alexi Webb got his third try, crossing in the left hand corner. The home side then had a period of sustained possession and territory, and scored another try when Rhys Reynolds, on his debut, dived over from a ruck on the Ebbw Vale try-line. This double setback stirred the visitors into action and they got themselves back into the game with a strong run from 30m out to score in the left hand corner. However, NHSOB had the last word, with Alexi Webb scoring his fourth try of the match, leaving the visitors too little time to come back. This was an entertaining and well contested match, with the home side just having the edge on their visitors due to stronger defence.
